Hokie Nation

Before the game, Governor Warner visited with hundreds of tailgating Tech fans, many of whom stopped Governor Warner to congratulate him on his debate performance from the night before and to wish him luck in his election campaign.
Here is a video of our day at the game:
Universally, though, members of the Hokie Nation thanked Governor Warner for his role in getting Virginia Tech into the Atlantic Coast Conference as the Big East Conference was unraveling in 2003.

During the game, Governor Warner climbed into the stands to visit with Tech’s Corps of Cadets. He joked that he was always popular with the Corps because, as Virginia Governor, he had the authority to forgive their demerits – a power he exercised each time he visited Tech’s campus. At halftime, he got an opportunity to join Bill Roth, the “Voice of the Hokies,” on the Tech sports radio network.
